Art in the Vineyard

Many artists looking for motifs to paint are attracted by the views and scenery at vineyards. New England vineyards in particular offer some wonderful visuals for the painter. Theresa Kasun

Theresa received a B.A. from the Kansas City Art Institute and a masters degree from the New York Academy of Art.

While traveling the vineyards on the Connecticut Wine Trail she created a series paintings of orchards, old wine barrels, vineyards, and buildings. Her blog of these plein aire painting sessions gives insight into the thoughts of the artist at work. She has also done a series of still-life with wine and food motifs.

It was another one of those early fall days where the sun was shining and it was mildly warm. A great day to be outside. As a painter I try to capture a scene or moment in time visually. In the vineyard-Seasons Greetings-painting by Theresa Kasun“You can find this exact view at the top of the hill, by the small vineyard near the wine tasting barn. Except for the fact there isn’t a sign that says season’s greetings; and none of these kind Jones family members put bows on trees or anything like that. However, as the artist, the lord and master over this painting, I have the priviledge of taking artistic liberty with it; and because my agent Elaine suggested I put in a sign that says season’s greetings.
